辰砂のやきもの（Shinsｙa-ware)

| 辰砂に魅せられています。この釉薬は石灰釉に、酸化銅を1〜2パーセント添加したのものですが、とても気難しい釉薬です。還元焼成で濃い紅が出るはずなのですが、結果は不安定です。私の窯は電気窯ですから、還元環境を作り出す為に、木炭を作品の傍に置きます。炭の量によって結果は大きく左右されますが、それぞれの作品に対する適量を見極めるのは至難の技です。
I have been absolutely enthralled by Shinsya glaze. This glaze consists of limestone glaze and 1-2% of copper oxide, and it is very difficult one to handle. It is supposed to have deep red by reduction firing process but actually is pretty unstable and the results show different colors every time. My kiln is electric type and in order to produce the reduction firing, I need to put several pieces of charcoal beside the potteries. The color depends on the quantity of the charcoal and it is extremely difficult how many charcoals should be put for each potteries. |
花入
Hana Ire
(a vase for tea flowerｓ)
流れやすい釉薬の一部は、丸い形に添って一気に下まで流れ落ちた
ようです。還元焼成する為に、器の傍に置いた炭の炎が、器の下部に
触れたのでしょう。黒や灰色に変化して一つの景色を見せています。
焼成時間：1250℃
焼成時間：7時間
This picture shows Cinnabar glaze ran without
stopping from the top to the bottom.
I guess black color on the bottom was caused
by touch of charcoal.
The wave pattern of the bottom is interesting.

(A pot for tea flowers)
図らずも壺全体に亀の甲羅のような模様が描き出されました。
窯の中で何が起こったのか見当もつきませんので、
もう一度出してみたくても再現はむりでしょう。
焼成温度：1280℃
焼成時間は8時間でした。
Cinnabar glaze drew unexpectedly tortoiseshell's
pattern
on the surface of this pot.
I don't know what happened in the kiln.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to reproduce
the pattern.

濃茶入
(Ａ ｔhick tea container)
とても気に入っている茶入れです。釉薬の紅と炭が出した黒との
溶け合う感じが、ちょっと幻想的な雰囲気を醸し出しています。
This is my most favorite tea container.
The good combination of crimson and black creates a magical atmosphere
throughout.
