Kuro-Tomesode(2)
(black formal Kimono)

I used to ware the Tomesode that my mother had prepared for me about 5 times for my go-between tasks. However, its color and patterns on the bottom got a bit unmatched to my age when I turned around 40. So, I decided to have a new Tomesode and a Obi. This time my husband financially supported me and along with some advices from my mother, I got the new one with five our family emblems on it.
This Tomesode then became my most usable Kimono as I have used it on my daughter's marriage ceremony in addition to the go-betweens I was appointed to about 10 times since then.

This Tomesode actually has 4 different Obi as follows.
I choose them to fit my feelings and thinking about seasons. I surely put a tons of love into each of them.
Every one of them has a different yet all beautiful colors and patterns that celebrate a special good day and I always enjoy them from my heart, even just looking at them.

Our Family Emblem

Second Tomesode has also five family emblems. There are three of them on the back and other two emblems are on the front sleeves.
The design is our family emblems " Kikyo": a Japanese bell flower.

This Obi is the original one I got with second Tomesode.
Line patterns on the bottom of Tomesode and the Obi are embroidered
with lots of gold threads. So that the bottom is quite heavy.
